Surveillance Technician
POSITION SUMMARY: The Surveillance Technician reports to the Director of Surveillance and provides support in all compliance and related activities. The Surveillance Technician monitors, maintains, repairs and installs surveillance equipment on a needed basis. Organizes and maintains surveillance records, audits, logs, and reports. In addition, they relate and communicate positively to surveillance management and other staff. Employee must be available for all shifts. (Rotating shifts)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors surveillance equipment and systems
Installs or troubleshoots network installations with respect to surveillance and /or PC applications.
Maintains surveillance equipment and develop maintenance schedule
Repairs damaged surveillance camera and/or equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Surveillance duties of Surveillance Officer.
Protect the assets of the Tribe by ensuring adherence to all applicable policies and procedures, laws, and regulations through surveillance camera observations.
Develops and maintains a high degree of knowledge of regulatory requirements in casino internal controls and operations.
Conducts diligent surveillance investigations and takes appropriate measures for evidence gathering and video recordings as necessary while keeping constant communication with the Surveillance Supervisors and the Director of Surveillance.
Conducts assigned and random surveillance observations.
Observes all gaming equipment and supplies for integrity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Monitors table games, drops, counts, and money transfers for compliance.
Monitors shipping, receiving, installation, relocation, removal, storage of gaming devices for security and compliance.
Thorough understanding of sound and effective internal control procedures, and investigational procedures and techniques.
Provides ongoing compliance reporting to the Surveillance Supervisors and the Director of Surveillance, which may include sharing information on areas to improve efficiency in casino surveillance operations.
Ability to identify and report operational areas, key internal controls, and/or operationally inefficient internal control procedures that do not comply with all applicable laws, regulations and Tribal Minimum Internal Control standards.
Develops and maintains knowledge of conducting surveillance investigations.
Observes and reports on Casino management documents when provided, such as, Financial Internal Compliance Reports, Credit and Fill slips, overage and shortage variance reports, shipping and receiving invoices, player tracking data, point of sale data, balance sheets, patron incidents/complaint, etc., or any irregularities discovered.
Adhere to the Jena Band of Choctaw Gaming Commission Internal Controls and Jena Choctaw Pines Casino Policies and Procedures.
Must possess problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to read, interpret and understand laws, governmental regulations, procedures and other governmental communications and documents.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and must be able to manage a number of priorities simultaneously, establish and meet deadlines.
Must be able to make reasonable, professional and sound judgments regarding compliance violations and take the appropriate and necessary steps for surveillance reporting requirements.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned for maintaining and enhancing surveillance operations.
Observes the casino for fulfillment of all of its reporting requirements including, but not limited to; Title 31, IRS, NIGC, and the State regulations.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Typically, non-applicable (N/A) unless acting in the capacity of a supervisory authority during the absence of a surveillance supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
At least 2 years of surveillance technical experience / or IT experience.
Strong knowledge of surveillance equipment and installation/maintenance.
Extensive knowledge in audio and video repairs.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills.
Strong knowledge of casino games and casino operations is preferred.
Background in video or electronics desirable.
Knowledge in casino gaming operations.
Demonstrate familiar with gaming compliance, licensing, surveillance, accounting and all other areas of the casino industry.
Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable Tribal, Federal, and State gaming regulations.
Valid driver's license, adequate transportation.
Ability to pass an extensive background check.
Must take and pass a pre-employment drug test. Must take and pass any random drug test, zero tolerance.
Knowledge of Native American culture, Tribal Governmental operations.
Must have a working knowledge of computer software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret operating procedures, technical procedures and government regulations.
Ability to maintain organization, meet deadlines, possesses integrity, confidentiality and discretion in handling confidential information.
Required to comprehend detailed and lengthy documents, rules and regulations, reports, logs, procedure manuals, and other correspondence.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays as needed.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.

The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee occasionally is required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, and/or move up to 150 pounds. Work is generally performed in an office setting. Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and moderate noise-level, as well as, outdoors at maintenance work sites. Exposure to natural weather conditions, various dusts and mists, and normal debris and hazards common at construction sites may occur while performing outdoor duties. Situations where safety-toe shoes, safety goggles, gloves, protective face shields, or hardhats are needed may arise. Prolonged standing and walking may be on uneven surfaces or unstable ground. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
