Northwestern State University's Financial Aid Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Financial Aid and Scholarship Officer. Must be a self-starter with the
ability to organize and coordinate large workloads in a timely and effective manner.
Must have strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships within the office and with all other members of
the NSU community. It is essential for the successful candidate to be able to handle
problem customers and or situations in a professional, composed, and effective manner.
Must be flexible, show effective judgement, discretion and have the ability to handle confidential financial matters. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors' Degree or equivalent experience (combination of education, training, and related experience) required.
Demonstrated customer service skills required.
Must be able to communicate and establish a rapport with a diverse student population.
Ability to give written and oral instruction in an understandable manner and ability to work independently is essential.
Job Concepts
Answer phone and counsel students and parents with questions concerning financial aid and scholarships.
Prepares daily deposits from Third Party Vendors for Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Sort and routes mail to proper personnel.
Maintains a detailed inventory record of current state properties, records description, and identification numbers.
Process University Academic Scholarships
Processes University Exemptions.
Provide support for processing University Athletics.
Completing other projects as assigned by the Coordinator of Scholarships and Student Employment, Associate Director, and Director of Financial Aid
