Assistant/Associate Professor





Supplemental Information


Northwestern State University College of Nursing and School of Allied Health seeks an applicant for a 9-month full-time faculty position for the Master of Nursing Practice and Post-Master's Certificate academic programs available in any location served by NSU beginning August 12, 2024.

A Master's in Nursing is required; however, a Doctorate is preferred (required for academic rank of Associate Professor). Must hold an unencumbered, Louisiana license as an RN or APRN. Teaching experience at a graduate nursing level is preferred. Applicants must show evidence of ongoing scholarly activity, adeptness at online educational technology, and be eligible to serve as a member of

Northwestern State University's Graduate Faculty. Must be willing to travel, pass a background check, and meet the required standards defined by the University.

Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin immediately. The position will remain open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications


 


Master's in Nursing required; doctorate preferred (required for academic rank of Associate Professor).
Hold an unencumbered, Louisiana license as a registered nurse and/or advanced practice registered nurse.
At least three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
Teaching experience at the graduate nursing level is preferred
Must show evidence of ongoing scholarly activity and adeptness at online educational technology.
Be eligible to serve as a full member of Northwestern State University's Graduate Faculty.
Willing to travel
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must meet the required standards defined by the University.

Coordinates the delivery of quality didactic, simulation, and clinical learning experiences between two off-campus learning sites and multiple clinical agencies.

Provide instruction in areas of expertise.

Maintain required office hours.
Maintain good attendance.
Supervise and evaluate student learning experiences.
Serve as an advisor and mentor for students in the College of Nursing.
Advises students interested in the program and those currently in the program regarding curriculum and APDG requirements.
