NPSB Appoints New Interim Director of Human Resources
NATCHITOCHES, LA - The Natchitoches Parish School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Ramona Wynder as the district's Interim Director of Human Resources, effective immediately.
Ms. Wynder brings 30 years of experience in education to the role, with a career that reflects her unwavering commitment to student success, talent development, and educational equity. A proud graduate of Northwestern State University, she began her career in 1994 as a teacher at Cloutierville Elementary School, and has teaching experience spanning P-12 and post-secondary education in both general and special education.
Recognized for her dedication to excellence in education, Ms. Wynder has been named Teacher of the Year three times for schools in Caddo Parish and Natchitoches Parish. In 2011, she earned a Master's of Education in Educational Leadership from Northwestern State University and went on to serve as Coordinator of Alternate Certification before becoming Director of Clinical Practice and Partnerships in NSU's School of Education. In her roles, she played a vital part in preparing future educators for service in Louisiana classrooms.
During her time at NSU, Ms. Wynder was named the Freeport-McMoRan Endowed Professor for four award years, recognized for her impactful research on recruiting and retaining teachers from diverse backgrounds. Through this work, she was instrumental in NSU becoming a Call Me MiSTER partner institution - a nationally recognized program founded to address the critical shortage of Black male educators in classrooms. Ms. Wynder's leadership in this effort reflects her ongoing mission to ensure all children have access to well-prepared, diverse educators who reflect the communities they serve.
Ms. Wynder was a member of the University of Louisiana System's Management & Leadership Institute (Cohort 5) and Leadership Natchitoches (Cohort 5) through the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves as the District 1 Representative (Northwest Council) of the Louisiana Reading Association and a member of the National Healthcareer Association as a licensed phlebotomist.
For the past three and a half years, Ms. Wynder has served NPSB as Grant Administrator and Certification Coach, where she has focused on talent acquisition and retention, workforce development, and building collaborative partnerships. She is widely respected for her expertise in teacher certification and licensing - making her a trusted voice of education in the region.
"Ms. Wynder is a caring, compassionate leader with a heart for service," said Dr. Grant Eloi, Superintendent of Natchitoches Parish Schools. "Her leadership and experience have been a tremendous asset to our district as we continue to prioritize the recruitment, support, and development of top-tier educators."
