The Krewe of Dionysos has selected the Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches (APHN) as the recipient of one of its annual charitable donations.
Founded in 1941 and chartered as a nonprofit organization in 1944, APHN is dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Natchitoches and the Cane River region. The Krewe of Dionysos is proud to support this important mission and the organization's ongoing efforts to preserve local history.
APHN operates two historic properties, Melrose on the Cane (Melrose Plantation) and the Lemee House. The organization also provides educational opportunities for both children and adults through programs such as the Children's Walking Tour of Natchitoches and the Fall Tour of Historic Homes. In addition, APHN partners with universities to enhance student research projects and learning experiences.
Upcoming APHN events include the 52nd Annual Melrose Arts & Crafts Festival, October 10–11, 2026 at Melrose on the Cane (3533 LA-119, Melrose, LA). Saturday hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday hours are 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
