Cane River National Heritage Area Tees Up For Second Cane River Mini Golf Classic Fundraiser
Posted 04-08-2026

Natchitoches, LA - After a successful inaugural event, Cane River National Heritage Area (CRNHA) is teeing up for a good time with the second annual Cane River Mini Golf Classic. This year's fundraiser will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Timber Ridge Adventure Park, formerly known as Dark Woods Adventure Park, in Natchitoches. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with check-in beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The Mini Golf Classic is a team-based tournament designed to bring community together for a fun evening of friendly competition while supporting an important cause. The event's theme, "Puttin' for a Purpose," reflects its mission to raise funds for the Cane River Children's Discovery Center, a planned hands-on children's museum and visitor center for the region.
The tournament will feature a shotgun start. Teams will compete for bragging rights and prizes, with awards recognizing the top three finishing teams and a $250 grand prize cash award for the first-place team.
Participants and supporters can get involved in several ways, including VIP Experience packages, team registrations, individual player registrations, and sponsorship opportunities. Community members who want to support the cause without playing can also participate as a "Puttin' Pal" non-player sponsor. For those who want to join the fun on-site, day-of-gate admission will also be available.
Funds raised from the Cane River Mini Golf Classic, will support the development of the Cane River Children's Discovery Center, an innovative educational destination being developed by CRNHA. Through hands-on exhibits, outdoor learning spaces, and immersive storytelling, the Center will connect visitors of all ages to the unique heritage, environment, and culture of the Cane River region. The goal is to create a space where curiosity, conversation, and community come together, inspiring the next generation to explore and care for the region's natural and cultural resources.
"Events like the Mini Golf Classic allow our community to have fun while investing in something meaningful," said Rebecca Blankenbaker, CRNHA Executive Director. "When you play, sponsor, or attend, you're helping build a place where children can learn through discovery and families can connect with the stories that make Cane River so special."
The Cane River Mini Golf Classic is open to players of all skill levels, making it a perfect opportunity for businesses, families, friends, and community organizations to come together for an evening of competition, entertainment, and impact.
